Day 9

Day 9: Pre-Valentine Day Barcoding
Today was a busy day at the library, with a large number of visitors coming in. Due to the high volume of people, the task of barcoding books had to be postponed until later in the day. Instead, we focused on generating and printing the barcodes, which were then carefully cut and prepared for use.
In the morning, Ma'am Ruby Ann kindly treated us to cake and coffee, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. As we savored the sweet treats, we chatted and socialized with Ma'am Regina, taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the library. The coffee and cake provided a much-needed boost of energy and morale, helping us to tackle the rest of the day with renewed focus and enthusiasm.
In the afternoon, the we engaged in preparing for a Valentine's Day event for the visitors. We scoured the internet for inspiring "hugot" lines to include in the games and activities. After printing and cutting out heart-shaped box, we shifted focus to the task of barcoding the library's books.

With fewer visitors in the library during the afternoon, were able to move around to the shelves with ease, quickly locating and barcoding the books. As two trainees, Ryan and the I divided the work between us efficiently. Ryan was responsible for gathering information about the books and recording it in a sheet, while i focused on copying the accession numbers and searching for the corresponding entries in the library's database. By working together, we were able to barcode the books and update the database simultaneously, making the process much faster and more efficient.
