Day 18: Back to Barcoding Monday On this Monday morning, Ryan, Vicente, and I gathered at the library to start the day's task of making barcodes. We set out to register new barcodes for the books in the library's database, a routine task that we had done many times before. Throughout the day, we diligently worked on the books and managed to complete 800 of them with registered barcodes. Ryan was responsible for finding the necessary information about each book and inserting it into a spreadsheet, while Vicente meticulously placed the barcodes on the books. Meanwhile, I took charge of registering the barcodes in the library's database, ensuring that each book was correctly labeled and recorded. After a long day of hard work, we took a much-needed break and shared a snack with Ma'am Regina, who had kindly prepared some delicious pansit canton for us to enjoy. It was a welcome respite from the day's activities, and we savored the opportunity to relax and re

Day 17: Productive Short Day Making Barcodes Today was a productive day, despite it being shorter than usual. Our task for the day was to make barcodes, and though Ryan couldn't join us due to his group's preparation for their final defense in their capstone project, Vicente and I were able to make progress. However, our efforts were cut short by an event - the End of the Term Report of President Arnulfo Mateum Mascariñas of Bicol University. All library staff were required to attend the event, and as a result, our time to make barcodes was limited. Nevertheless, we made the most of the time we had, and though our progress was not as much as we had hoped for, we were satisfied with what we accomplished. We will continue our work on the barcodes tomorrow, hoping to make up for lost time.

Day 16: A Day at the Library: Barcoding Books, Ash Wednesday, and an Internet Setback" Today, as usual, I spent my day at the library making barcodes. My colleague Vicente and I worked together to create the barcodes for the books. My task was to search for the necessary information for each book at the BUiLib, which I then wrote down on the record sheet to keep track of the barcoded books and other books in the library's database. In the morning, Ma'am Regina, one of the librarians, invited us to take a break and join her for some bread and coffee. We had a pleasant chat before returning to our work. At around 10 o'clock, we went downstairs to have our foreheads marked with ash for Ash Wednesday. After the brief ritual, we returned to our work upstairs, continuing to create barcodes for the library's books. However, in the afternoon, we encountered a setback when the internet went down at around 4 pm. This interrupted our work since we need

Day 15: Barcoding but solo Today feels like a slightly less productive day compared to our usual routine at the library. As the morning begins, our first task is to remove the Valentine's Day decorations that adorned the library. We take down the balloons and heart-shaped papers that added a festive touch to the surroundings. During this time, Ma'am Ruby Ann arrives at the library with some freshly baked pandesal, a delicious Filipino bread, which we enjoy with some peanut butter. As for my specific task today, I am responsible for barcoding the books. This process involves retrieving the books from the shelves, cross-checking them with the library's database system, and recording them in a sheet file. There are two separate sheet files, one for books that are available at the health sciences library and another for books that are yet to be recorded or are still recorded at the University Library. Fortunately, Vicente is present today, and he kindly

Day 14: Lively Morning at the Library It was a bustling day at the library, as numerous students from different courses, such as those from the College of Nursing and College of Medicine, had come to review and study. However, there was a slight change in the usual work routine as Ryan was absent due to his Capstone group's final defense preparations, and Vicente was on his way and would only arrive in the afternoon. As the only trainee present in the morning, I received a request from Ma'am Regina to take a picture of the library, which was brimming with students, for documentation purposes. With Ryan absent, I couldn't put barcodes on the books alone, which would have been a challenging task. So, I decided to generate new barcodes, which I printed and cut in the morning. After Vicente arrived, we collaborated to ensure that the barcodes were appropriately secured. We handed him the books, and he sealed them with tape to protect the barcodes from ge

Day 13: Friday Making Barcodes  Today is Friday, and the weekend is just around the corner. As part of my daily routine, I spent the morning registering barcodes for books in the library's database. My colleague Ryan and I had to make a quick trip to the ICTO office to address an issue with his daily time record. On the way there, we stumbled upon an empanada vendor and couldn't resist buying some to snack on during our walk. Unfortunately, Ryan's time record had not been properly recorded, and Ma'am Sha was unable to find any data associated with it. After a brief discussion with the ICTO, we were able to identify and rectify the problem with Ryan's records. Once we returned to the library, we resumed our work registering barcodes, and after a few hours, it was time for lunch. Following our break, we continued with the barcode registration until the end of the day. As a well-deserved reward, we took a coffee break before wrapping up our work

Day 12: Making Barcodes Today was another busy day at the library, as we continued to generate barcodes for the books and register them in our database. I arrived early at 7:17 am, eager to get started, but had to wait for my colleagues Ma'am Regina and Ryan to arrive. Unfortunately, Ma'am Ruby Ann was absent today as she was busy with her defense, and Vicente was also unable to make it due to an emergency. To kick off our day, we devoted our efforts to creating fresh barcodes, and we were delighted to produce a whopping 200 of them. This task consumed the entirety of our morning, and we subsequently printed the barcodes onto 8 pages of paper, which we later trimmed to size. Meanwhile, Ma'am Regina needed to step out to handle some paperwork, and she asked us to hold down the fort at her desk in case any students required assistance or had any questions or concerns. As always, we are happy to help in any way we can In the afternoon, our a

Day 11: Back to Barcoding Today was a long and tiring day at the library. My colleague and I spent the entire morning and afternoon affixing barcodes onto books. It was challenging work because the books were quite large, and there were only two of us to complete the task since our other ojt mate was absent due to an emergency. We started early, beginning our work at 8:00 am and finishing at 4:00 pm. Throughout the day, we took a few snack breaks to recharge. In the morning, we enjoyed a much-needed cup of coffee, which helped us stay focused and energized. Later in the day, we had a delicious snack of toast bread, which gave us the energy to power through the rest of our work. Despite the challenges, we were glad to have completed the task by the end of the day. We felt a sense of accomplishment and were proud of ourselves for working hard and staying focused.

Day 10: OJT on Valentine's Day Today, the 14th of February, marks a significant day for many as it is Valentine's Day, a time to express love and appreciation for one another. Unfortunately, the day did not commence as smoothly as anticipated. Ma'am Regina, who has the keys to the library, had inadvertently forgotten them at her residence. Consequently, we had to wait for Ma'am Ruby Ann, who has another key for opening the library, to arrive. While waiting for Ma'am Ruby Ann, we waited at the guidance office. Although the space provided comfort, we remained restless due to the anticipation of the library activity. Despite this, we utilized the time to engage in fruitful discussions and share stories. Eventually, Ma'am Ruby Ann arrived with a large bag of chocolates and the keys to the library. Upon Ma'am Ruby Ann's arrival at the library, we began to cut paper hearts to be used for the upcoming Valentine's Day game

Day 9: Pre-Valentine Day Barcoding Today was a busy day at the library, with a large number of visitors coming in. Due to the high volume of people, the task of barcoding books had to be postponed until later in the day. Instead, we focused on generating and printing the barcodes, which were then carefully cut and prepared for use. In the morning, Ma'am Ruby Ann kindly treated us to cake and coffee, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. As we savored the sweet treats, we chatted and socialized with Ma'am Regina, taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the library. The coffee and cake provided a much-needed boost of energy and morale, helping us to tackle the rest of the day with renewed focus and enthusiasm. In the afternoon, the we engaged in preparing for a Valentine's Day event for the visitors. We scoured the internet for inspiring "hugot" lines to include in the games and activities. Day 8: Day four of making barcodes Today was another productive day at the library. Our main focus was on updating our records and making sure our database was accurate. To accomplish this, we spent the morning creating barcodes for the books in our collection and updating our records to track the books with their new barcodes. One of our tasks for the day was to make a list of books that were not yet in the database. This list will be a valuable resource for us in the future as we continue to track and update our collection. We were grateful to have a delicious snack of banana que provided by Ma'am Ruby Ann at the end of the day. Sadly, Ma'am Regina was absent as her children were feeling unwell. All in all, today was a great way to end the week and we are looking forward to another productive week at the library.

Day 7: Day Three of making barcodes A usual day at the library making barcodes. A joyful day at the library with many visitors. While we're busy making barcodes. In the afternoon we have a snacks banana cue with coffee. Thanks to ma'am Regina and ma'am Ruby Ann for the snacks. Today was another productive day at the library, as we continued to make barcodes for the books and resources available to our patrons. The barcode production process was a well-oiled machine, with each member of the team working efficiently to ensure that every barcode was made to the highest standards. I spent my time inputting the barcodes into the library's database, carefully verifying each record and updating it as necessary. We also updated our records in a Google sheet, so that we would have a clear and comprehensive record of every book in our collection. Despite our best efforts, we encountered a few obstacles along the way. Not all of the books in our

Day 6: Day Two of making barcodes Today at the library is bustling. To kick off the day, we were treated to coffee from Ma'am Ruby Ann and Ma'am Regina. As we enjoyed our beverages, we conducted routine maintenance on the library's computers, freeing up valuable storage space by removing any unnecessary files and programs that had been downloaded by students from the College of Nursing and Medicine.  After thorough cleaning of the computer and removal of all irrelevant files and programs, we began to label our books and database with barcodes. By the end of the morning, we successfully added barcodes to over 70 books. To ensure that we stay fresh and focused, we took short breaks in between our barcode insertion tasks. During one of these breaks, we visited the University Library to drop off some important papers. After completing this errand, we returned to the Health Sciences Library and resumed our barcode labeling. Unfortunately, we r

Day 5: Day One of making barcodes Today's on the job training is a busy day, many thing had happened. In the morning ma'am Ruby Ann gets the account that has access to the database of the BUlib. Ma'am gives us the account password so that we can start doing our task to insert the barcode. Unfortunately after trying to insert the barcode that we make it gives us a error that it is duplicate, meaning the barcode that we make is already used in the database of BUlib after testing other barcode non of our barcodes has been successfully stored in the database. We talked to ma'am Ruby Ann about the issue and we suggested that we need to change the barcodes and add HSL- to make it unique and will not be a duplicate to other barcodes. We make a sample to be tested at the University Library barcode scanner because at the Health Sciences Library their is no barcode scanner available. With several attempts the barcode scanner can identify it. And around 10 o'clock w

Day 4: Edit image , make catchy captions and insertion of images to documents Today, we took photos at the library and crafted captions for approval from Ma'am Ruby Ann to post on the BUCM Library Facebook page. Prior to taking the photos, we reviewed the Facebook page to familiarize ourselves with the types of posts and captions used. After completing the task, at the afternoon Ma'am Regina asked for assistance in locating the photos and inserting them into a Microsoft Word document. With our guidance, Ma'am Regina successfully learned how to insert and properly arrange images in the document.

Day 3: Printing and Cutting Barcodes Today we started by printing and cutting the barcodes we made yesterday. However, after completing the task, we realized that we could not proceed with renewing the barcodes of the books because we do not have access to the database. In the afternoon, Ma'am Ruby Ann assigned a task to research marketing strategies to promote the library. This task was given as a way to make the library more known to the public and to increase the number of visitors. The research will include looking into various methods of promoting the library, such as through social media, events, and collaborations with other organizations. The goal is to find the most effective way to reach a wider audience and attract more people to the library.

Day 2: Making Barcodes for Books Today was a busy day as I started my on-the-job training at the College of Medicine. I arrived at exactly 7:30 a.m. and timed in using the biometric attendance system, which I had registered yesterday afternoon at the ICTO. As soon as the library opened, we started to make samples of barcodes for Ma'am Ruby Ann to select the design she liked. After an hour, Ma'am Ruby Ann chose a design, and Ma'am Regina printed the sample. We tested it at the University Library barcode scanner, and it worked flawlessly. Troubleshoot and fix t he computer keyboard problem. The keyboard device cannot be found in the device manager, a little troubleshoot and restart the computer fix it. In the afternoon, we used the selected barcode design to regenerate ten pages of barcodes.
